Job Title: MEP CAD Technician

The MEP CAD Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the design and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) services. Working closely with engineers, designers, and project teams, the technician ensures coordinated, detailed, and compliant documentation that supports efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Detailed Drawings: Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems using AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).
  • Collaborate with Design Teams: Work closely with MEP Engineers and Designers to translate design concepts into coordinated drawings.
  • Maintain Drawing Compliance: Ensure drawings comply with project requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company CAD/BIM protocols.
  • Support Project Delivery: Assist in the development of coordinated services drawings, clash detection, and model updates.
  • Manage Drawing Registers: Maintain drawing registers, file management systems, and revision control.
  • Produce Tender Documents: Support project teams in producing tender, construction, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) and Revit MEP/BIM (preferred).
  • Experience in MEP Drawings: Experience in preparing MEP drawings and understanding of building services design.
  • Familiarity with Industry Standards: Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry codes of practice.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Workload Management: Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
