Job Overview

  • Design, develop and integrate custom applications and services for Android Automotive OS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customize AOSP to meet automotive-grade requirements.
  • Integrate Android apps into the IVI system.
  • Develop middleware and HAL interfaces to communicate with vehicle hardware.

System Integration & Testing:

  • Work with Vehicle HAL, Vehicle Properties, and native services integration.
  • Perform system performance tuning, debugging, and optimization.
  • Conduct unit, integration, and system-level testing to ensure reliability and compliance.

Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, QA, hardware engineers, and product managers.
  • Collaborate with Tier-1 automotive suppliers and OEMs for feature customization and integration.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system behavior, APIs, and architecture decisions.

Required Technical Skills:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Android platform or embedded development.
  • Strong knowledge of Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and AOSP customization.
  • Hands-on experience with Android SDK, NDK, JNI, and low-level system programming.
  • Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C/C++.
  • Familiarity with Binder IPC, System Services, and HAL layers.

Tools & Frameworks:

  • Experience with ADB, fastboot, logcat, Perfetto, Systrace, and CTS/VTS testing.
  • Use of version control tools like Git, Gerrit, and build systems such as Soong, Make, or Bazel.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for embedded platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Tier-1s/OEMs like Bosch, Harman, Continental, etc.
  • Familiarity with diagnostics (UDS) and automotive safety/security standards (ISO 26262, AUTOSAR).
  • Knowledge of OTA update systems and telemetry integration.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong debugging and analytical skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a passion for innovation in automotive tech.
