PostgreSQL Professional Wanted

CYBERTEC is seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and data security.

  • Job Summary:
  • We are looking for a professional with expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, optimization, and support.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing high-availability solutions, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data security.

About the Role:

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the toughest tickets and act as the final escalation point for complex incidents.
  • Design and automate deployments of PostgreSQL in Kubernetes (k8s) with Operators.
  • Tune and optimize databases for maximum performance.
  • Become an expert in building and operating resilient clusters with Patroni and repmgr.
  • Implement monitoring and observability pipelines in Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers in best practices and coach them in PL/pgSQL development patterns.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years administering PostgreSQL in production at scale (v9.6–15+)
  • Deep expertise in Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu) and shell scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Proven track record with Kubernetes and PostgreSQL Operators
  • Mastery of performance tuning: query plans, WAL tuning, connection pooling (PgBouncer, Pgpool-II)
  • Hands-on with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stacks
  • Excellent problem-solving, written/spoken English, and customer-facing skills
