Biomedical Service Technician – Medical Devices

Our organization is seeking a skilled Biomedical Service Technician to oversee the maintenance of medical devices at our facility. This role involves ensuring that all medical equipment is functioning correctly and safely for patients.

The primary responsibilities of this position include performing thorough disinfection and cleaning of medical devices, inspecting devices for functional issues after patient use, replacing components and consumable parts as necessary, and conducting routine quality control checks to maintain calibration logs. Additionally, the technician will diagnose electronics issues in control units and perform minor repairs, collaborate with the R&D team for advanced repairs or escalations, and perform software/firmware updates to ensure devices remain up-to-date.

In terms of device deployment support, the technician will be responsible for device pickups and installations at hospitals/home-care centers as required, deploy new devices/rental devices according to customer needs, and provide basic usage training to nursing staff or caregivers during device deployment. The technician must also maintain accurate service logs, device usage hours, complaints, and interventions, and prepare regular reports for operations and product teams to inform decision-making.Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma/ITI in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 1-3 years of experience servicing medical equipment (e.g., infusion pumps, suction machines, ventilators, patient monitors).
  • Familiarity with hospital infection control practices is beneficial.
