Job Overview

A SOC Analyst – Detection role is pivotal in ensuring the security and integrity of an organization's IT infrastructure.

The position requires a professional to monitor security alerts, conduct threat hunting, analyze threats, and respond to security incidents. This individual will work closely with cybersecurity and threat intelligence teams to enhance detection and response capabilities.

This remote contract role involves monitoring SIEM/EDR platforms for security alerts, escalating confirmed incidents, conducting investigations, and supporting forensic analysts with initial evidence collection and triage.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working in a Security Operations Center, and in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring SIEM/EDR platforms for security alerts and escalating confirmed incidents.
  • Conducting first and second-line investigation of suspicious activity.
  • Supporting forensic analysts with initial evidence collection and triage.
  • Performing detection tuning and rule creation to reduce false positives.
  • Carrying out threat hunting exercises using IOCs and attacker TTPs.
  • Contributing to incident reports and recommending preventive measures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in Cyber Threat Hunting (CTH) and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI)
  • Strong Analytical Skills and experience working in a Security Operations Center
  • In-depth knowledge of Cybersecurity principles and practices
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
