Job Title: Director of Sports

The sports director plays a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sports Vision and Strategy: Develop a comprehensive vision and strategy for the sports department, ensuring alignment with the institution's goals and objectives.
  • Program Management: Oversee the management of sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum, guaranteeing quality and compliance with national and international standards.
  • Facility Management: Supervise the maintenance and utilization of sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds to ensure their optimal usage and condition.
  • Talent Identification and Development: Identify, recruit, and mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels, fostering their growth and development.
  • Culture Promotion: Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and faculty to promote a culture of fitness and sportsmanship, emphasizing the importance of these values within the institution.
  • Training and Workshops: Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports, providing staff with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Performance Evaluation: Supervise and evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff, providing constructive feedback and support to aid in their growth and development.
  • Risk Management: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote ethical sports practices, minimizing the risk of injury or harm to participants.
  • Policy Formulation: Formulate and implement sports and physical education policies as per UGC/AIU norms, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Liaise with sports councils, federations, and UGC-recognized bodies for collaboration and participation, enhancing the institution's reputation and opportunities.
