Senior Telecommunications Engineer – Transmission

Fiber Network Management: Lead the design, planning, and implementation of FTTX and GPON networks, managing both aerial and underground fiber deployments.
Transmission Systems: Handle end-to-end management of DWDM, SDH, and PDH systems, ensuring optimal performance and timely fault resolution.
Operations & Maintenance: Oversee operations and maintenance of network equipment, including switches, routers, and optical devices from vendors like Cisco, Nokia, and Ciena.
Network Uptime Management: Ensure 100% network uptime by proactively maintaining and upgrading fiber optic and transmission systems.
Performance Management: Use NMS tools to monitor performance and analyze device logs to identify and troubleshoot issues in the network.
Team Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors for network expansion, optimization, and 4G/5G rollout projects.
Network Security & Fault Management: Ensure the security and reliability of the network by managing protocols such as MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
Technical Expertise: Utilize a deep understanding of various network protocols and transmission technologies to provide Level 2 support for network issues and ensure smooth network operations.
Vendor & Client Coordination: Liaise with vendors and clients to ensure network equipment and infrastructure meet operational standards and requirements.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, fiber routes, and technical standards to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or related field.
15+ years of experience in telecommunications, particularly in fiber optic networks, transmission technologies, and network management.
Strong hands-on experience with DWDM, SDH, PDH, GPON, and MPLS/BGP protocols.
Proficiency with tools such as OTDR, Optical Power Meters, SDH/SONET analyzers, and E1 testers.
Experience with major telecom vendors (e.g., Cisco, Nokia, Ciena, Huawei, Alcatel).
Proven ability to manage large-scale fiber networks (over 1700 km of aerial fiber).
Knowledge of 4G/5G networks and experience in network rollouts.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and team management abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and compliance regulations.
Proficient in the use of network management systems and monitoring tools.
