About the RoleAs a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting, architecting, and scaling backend systems that empower our global learning platform.Key Responsibilities:Design scalable backend services using Node.js / TypeScript (Express.js / NestJS).Develop and maintain robust APIs and microservices, including caching layers and distributed components.Create efficient SQL & NoSQL data models, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.Own system design for major modules—from requirement analysis through production deployment.Evaluate system performance, reliability, observability, and security compliance across the platform.BUILD CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and cloud infrastructure.Collaborate closely with founders, product, and frontend teams to ship high-impact features quickly and reliably.Review code, mentor junior engineers, and promote strong engineering principles, coding standards, and best practices.Diagnose complex system issues, optimize performance, and implement long-term technical solutions.Desired Qualifications & Skill Set:Has 4+ years of backend development experience with deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js/NestJS.Strong command over API design, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and modular backend frameworks.Understands database design and has practical experience with both SQL and NoSQL systems.Built or maintained scalable production-grade systems with real user traffic.Possesses exceptional debugging, problem-solving, and architectural thinking skills.Strong knowledge of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and DevOps-oriented workflows.Communicates clearly and works seamlessly with cross-functional teams.Is proactive, product-oriented, thrives in fast-paced startup environments, and takes full end-to-end ownership.
