Spend & Savings AnalyticsBuild the enterprise spend cube and maintain taxonomy across direct/indirect categories.Deliver price–volume–mix and should-cost analyses for key materials and services.Develop index-linked pricing and variance tracking models in Excel/Power BI.Identify and size cost-reduction levers (consolidation, alternate sourcing, e-auctions).2. Cost Engineering & BenchmarkingConstruct should-cost and TCO models (BOM, routing, freight, duties, overheads).Benchmark suppliers and productivity vs. China/APAC peers; run landed-cost and make-vs-buy analyses.Support commercial teams in negotiation packs , RFI/RFQ , and auction analytics .3. Procurement & Project DashboardsBuild real-time dashboards (commitment vs. budget, PO cycle times, OTIF, cash-flow curves).Integrate fabrication / erection progress with material demand to anticipate delays.Create project procurement control towers for leadership reviews.4. Supplier & Risk IntelligenceDesign supplier scorecards (cost, quality, OTIF, ESG) and risk dashboards for early warning on delays, insolvency, or commodity shocks.Drive dual-sourcing and localization opportunities using data-backed analytics.5. Digital EnablementOwn the procurement analytics stack — Power BI, Excel models, e-tender data feeds.Automate repetitive reporting using RPA / low-code / advanced Excel macros .Champion master data quality (vendors, materials, tax codes) for analytics reliability.6. Change & Capability BuildingTranslate consultant recommendations into repeatable playbooks and SOPs.Coach category buyers and analysts on data interpretation, cost models, and supplier negotiations.Drive governance reviews with Founders, BU heads, and cost-transformation PMO.Candidate ProfileIdeal background1–5 years experience with McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Kearney, or ZS Associates (Procurement / Operations / Analytics practices).Exposure to cost-reduction, strategic sourcing, or supply chain transformation engagements.Strong command of Excel (advanced modeling, VBA preferred) and Power BI/Tableau .Analytical storytelling: able to turn data into clear business actions.Engineering + MBA combination preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engg).Good to haveExperience with SAP MM, Ariba, SRM .Working knowledge of commodity indexation , Incoterms, LDs, warranties, GST/customs.Certifications: CIPS, APICS, PMP, or Data Analytics.What Success Looks Like (12 Months)Measurable, audit-ready cost savings from Cost transformation initiatives.CXO-ready Power BI dashboards live for spend, savings, and vendor performance.Should-cost and indexation embedded in major contracts.Cost analytics playbooks institutionalized across BUs.Why it's compelling for ex-consultantsHigh visibility: direct interface with Founders, CEO, and global consulting partners.Execution ownership: move from advisory to value delivery.Learning curve: blend analytics, sourcing, and manufacturing exposure.Career path: fast-track to Procurement CoE Head / Category Head roles or get back to consulting roles in Expert track.
