Job Opportunity: Accountant (QuickBooks + Payments)We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to support our financial operations, manage reconciliations, and handle complex accounting and tax matters.Key Responsibilities:Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooksOversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, including preparing and scheduling paymentsHandle reconciliation of bank, credit card, and payment accountsManage edge cases and exceptions not covered by our automated systemsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsSupport Canadian tax compliance (GST/HST, payroll remittances, year-end filing)Assist with U.S. tax-related tasks as we expand into the marketMaintain accurate classification of transactions and general ledger recordsIdentify and suggest improvements to financial workflows and automation logicRequirements:Strong knowledge of QuickBooks is mandatoryExperience with payments, billing, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial trackingComfortable with technology and working in a highly automated environmentAbility to troubleshoot accounting discrepancies and handle non-standard casesKnowledge of Canadian tax processes is preferredFamiliarity with U.S. tax is an assetExtremely detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skillsExcellent communication and ability to work independentlyPrior bookkeeping or accounting experience, especially in small business/startup environments, is advantageous
