Job Title:Our organization seeks an experienced legal professional to oversee privacy, legal compliance, internal audits, and operational privacy management for physical campuses across India.This role will involve exposure to cross-functional teams and external partners, including universities, clients, and vendors.Develop and implement campus-wide privacy compliance strategies in accordance with Indian data protection laws (the Digital Personal Data Protection Act) and relevant international regulations.Conduct regular privacy and data protection audits across all campuses; identify risks, recommend, and track remediation measures.Coordinate with operational teams to ensure robust processes for the compliant handling of student, lead, faculty member, and employee personal data, and provide legal and strategic advice on privacy issues.Draft, review, and update privacy policies, procedures, and notices tailored for educational settings.Review and negotiate customer and vendor contracts; draft and negotiate data processing agreements.Conduct privacy impact assessments.Organize and deliver ongoing privacy awareness and training for employees and faculty members.Respond to data subject requests and complaints concerning data privacy.Monitor regulatory updates and sector trends to ensure the prompt adoption of necessary operational changes.Support incident management, data breach response, and communication with regulatory authorities.Monitor developments in global regulations, legislature, and privacy best practices, and advise on the need and rationale for changes required within the organization.
