Legal Director RoleThe Legal Director will oversee all legal and compliance matters in India operations, serving as the legal leader for regional teams.This position requires strong business acumen, sound judgment, and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.Main Responsibilities:Ensure alignment with global legal objectives, advising on key regulatory matters.Support regional initiatives, compliance rollouts, and corporate structuring activities.Provide risk-based guidance to leadership and operational teams.Employment Law & HR SupportAdvise HR on employee relations, contracts, policies, and disciplinary actions.Ensure employment documentation and practices comply with Indian labor laws.Partner with regional legal to support workforce transitions, investigations, and terminations.Corporate ComplianceOversee corporate secretarial compliance, legal filings, and board documentation.Monitor outsourcing regulations, ensuring data transfer meets global expectations.Develop internal compliance programs and local regulatory reporting.Data Protection & Cross-Border ComplianceAdhere to India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) and global privacy frameworks.Collaborate on lawful cross-border data transfer practices.Contract Review & NegotiationReview client and vendor agreements to ensure compliance with commercial standards.Identify key risk areas and propose mitigation strategies.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) or equivalent from a reputed university; advanced or international education preferred.Eligibility to practice law in India, 12–18 years of post-qualification experience in-house at a multinational.Core CompetenciesSound professional integrity and judgment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to influence without direct authority.
