Walletdoc is on the lookout for a seasoned Database Administrator to join our dynamic team in Pune. As a key player in our technology department, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimising our database systems to support our cutting-edge software applications. Your expertise in Microsoft SQL Server will contribute to the seamless operation and scalability of our payment solutions. Working closely with our IT and development teams, you will ensure the integrity, security, and high performance of our databases.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, secure and monitor Azure Microsoft SQL databases.
  • Ensure database performance, availability, and recovery through proactive measures.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Manage database access permissions and privileges.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in data modeling and database design for new projects.
  • Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, and failover.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams and stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure environments.
  • Proficiency in database administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of Azure services related to database management.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimisation using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Familiarity with best practices in data security.
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
