Senior Data Engineer Job DescriptionOur company seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer to contribute to the development of a modern data platform on AWS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.The role requires hands-on experience with legacy data stacks, including Siebel, Talend, and Informatica, as well as modern technologies like Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue, Redshift, and Atlan for governance.Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms supporting both batch and real-time use cases.Migrate legacy data solutions to modern AWS-native services.Implement and manage a data lake architecture using Apache Iceberg and AWS Glue.Work with Redshift for data warehousing solutions including performance tuning and modeling.Apply data quality and observability practices using Soda or similar tools.Ensure data governance and metadata management using Atlan (or other tools like Collibra, Alation).Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.Key responsibilities include:Developing data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows on AWS.Working with legacy data systems and migrating them to modern cloud-based solutions.Designing and implementing data lake architectures.Optimizing data warehouse performance and scaling.We are looking for someone who has a solid understanding of data engineering principles, is proficient in programming languages such as Python, and has experience working with AWS services, particularly Redshift, Glue, S3, and Athena.Responsibilities also include participating in defining and enforcing data engineering best practices.
