Location – Pune


Education/Skills/Experience:

• Bachelors / Master’s degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engg. with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience


Essential Duties and Key Competencies

• A Chemical Engineer with strong understanding of pharma / Biopharma manufacturing processes as mentioned below:

o Biopharmaceutical industry

o Pharma (API & Formulation) processes

• Document and detail the modelling requirement for the projects (Biopharma, API, formulation processes)

• Clearly define critical process parameters (CPPs) and critical quality attributes (CQAs) that the model should monitor or predict

• Clean the data by handling missing values, outliers, and noise

• Normalize and scale the data for multivariate analysis (MVA) to ensure comparability between variables

• Create new variables or features that may improve model performance, such as normalized flow rates, reaction kinetics parameters, or buffer ratios • Perform evaluation of model performances using - Evaluate key metrics like R squared (R²), residuals, and Q² (predictive ability of the model) to ensure the model's reliability and predictive accuracy

• Adjust model complexity by tuning parameters (e.g., number of latent variables) to avoid overfitting or underfitting

• Perform cross-validation to further ensure the model's robustness • Perform Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and residual analysis to verify the model’s performance and identify any statistically insignificant variables

• Validate the model with unseen process data (test sets or pilot-scale data) to confirm its predictive power

• Ensure the model is capable of detecting deviations in real-world conditions by assessing its sensitivity and specificity

• Deploy the model in real-time production environments using SIMCA Online to continuously monitor process variables and predict potential deviations before they occur

• Set up alarms and alerts for operators when the model predicts a drift in CPPs or CQAs that could impact product quality

• Continuously feed new process data into the model to ensure it remains up to date with any changes in the process

• Retrain the model periodically as the process evolves or as new equipment or materials are introduced

• monitoring of the models (post deployment) and documenting the best practices for modelling methodologies

• Should be able to apply various advanced inferential statistical layers to test the null hypothesis of the model using python, and estimating its performance using available metrics

• Should be able to devise the methodical (Practical) ways for implementing advanced multivariate optimization and complex non-linear Advanced ML techniques for feasible and stable solutions

• Creating advanced interactive visualization/Dashboards using Python • Must have organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously • Good level of statistical knowledge/experience like Time-series analytics, Advanced

statistics, Diagnostics and Descriptive analytics, Predictive Analytics, Prognostics Analytics, OEE-Reliability analytics

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal); ability to present communication plans to customers

• Strong experience (Hands-on) on statistical/ Modelling/Coding tools like Python, Spyder, pycharm, jupyterlab, Matlab, R, SIMCA Online, SQL, Seeq, Azure, AWS, Data Robot, Soft Analytics, Orange, Data-e, Azure, C++, java, Automated ML, designer, S3Bucket, ML flow, Azure SDK



Additional Skills

• Ability to accelerate bio-pharmaceutical scale up process.

• Experience in carrying out optimisation of Biphasic Anaerobic Digestion system by Model Predictive Control

• Expertise in carrying out Analysis of the utilization of the batch reactor and OEE calculation for the batch production line and predictive maintenance of batch autoclave.

• Ability to predict Batch product quality & identify important features • Experience in Soft-sensor development, batch to batch cycle time analysis, QbD model continuous product manufacturing

• Execution of Digital Twin Project
