AI/ML Principal Architect (Application)

Role Summary:

As the AI/ML Principal Architect, you will lead the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions across our manufacturing automation portfolio. You will be responsible for defining the architectural vision, designing scalable and efficient AI systems, and ensuring their seamless integration into our manufacturing processes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and execute a long-term AI/ML strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
  • Identify emerging AI technologies and trends, and translate them into actionable roadmaps.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the AI/ML team.
  • Architectural Design:
  • Design and implement robust AI/ML architectures that are scalable, resilient, and secure.
  • Select and integrate appropriate AI frameworks, tools, and libraries to build high-performance solutions.
  • Optimize AI models for performance and resource efficiency, leveraging techniques like model compression and quantization.
  • Solution Development:
  • Lead the development of end-to-end AI solutions, from data ingestion and preprocessing to model training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and domain experts to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Leverage generative AI techniques to enhance automation, optimize processes, and generate valuable insights.
  • Infrastructure and Deployment:
  • Design and implement cloud-native AI/ML infrastructure, leveraging containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Deploy AI models to edge devices and cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration with existing manufacturing systems.
  • Establish robust data pipelines and data governance practices to support AI initiatives.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Mentor and guide AI/ML engineers and data scientists, fostering a high-performing team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, operations) to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, presenting complex AI concepts in clear and concise terms.
  • Performance, Security, and Compliance:
  • Prioritize performance optimization, security, and compliance in all AI/ML solutions.
  • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR and HIPAA.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in AI/ML, with a strong focus on applied machine learning and deep learning.
  • Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex AI/ML solutions in production environments.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms, techniques, and tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.).
  • Expertise in data engineering, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), and big data processing frameworks (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in other languages as needed (Java, C++).
  • Experience with MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Passion for innovation and a strong desire to push the boundaries of AI/ML.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with generative AI techniques (e.g., GANs, Transformers) and their application in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of reinforcement learning and its potential for optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of edge computing and IoT technologies for real-time AI applications.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.
  • Experience with AI ethics and responsible AI practices.
