SolarWinds Engineer RoleThe Senior SolarWinds Automation Engineer will oversee the management, optimization, and automation of various SolarWinds platform functions.Administer and maintain the SolarWinds Orion platform, including NPM, NCM, SAM, VNQM, and other modules. Ensure seamless integration and configuration across these components.Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating SolarWinds tasks such as node onboarding/offboarding, alert suppression or muting during maintenance windows, custom alert/report generation, and distribution to SolarWinds–ServiceNow integration enhancements.Implement custom monitoring logic, automated diagnostics, and integrations via Orion API, SWIS, and REST endpoints. Leverage data analytics to drive informed decision-making.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand automation needs and deliver solutions that support observability workflows. Foster a culture of transparency and communication.Build tools and utilities to support monitoring self-service, reporting automation, and configuration validation. Utilize Agile methodologies to ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement.Manage custom Pollers, SNMP configurations, and agentless/agent-based monitoring across multi-vendor environments. Optimize resource allocation and streamline operations.Design and optimize SWQL and SQL queries to support reports and custom dashboards for tailored views. Develop visualizations that facilitate data-driven insights.Configure and maintain alert logic, escalation policies, and notification integrations (e.g., with ServiceNow, email, Teams). Ensure timely notification and efficient incident response.Participate in incident triage and root cause analysis, leveraging SolarWinds logs and metrics. Apply data-driven approaches to inform problem-solving and resolution.Maintain security posture of the application, including RBAC, SNMPv3, and audit logging. Implement robust security measures to safeguard against potential threats.Contribute to and maintain Kanban board tasks and documentation related to SolarWinds projects and issues.
