Pediatric Registrar

The Pediatric Registrar provides high-quality medical care to pediatric patients, under the supervision of Consultant Pediatricians. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing pediatric cases, as well as participating in departmental activities and education.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical:

1. Assess and manage pediatric patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.

2. Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations.

3. Develop and implement treatment plans, including medications and therapies.

4. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

5. Participate in pediatric emergencies, including resuscitations.

Departmental:

1. Participate in ward rounds, clinics, and multidisciplinary meetings.

2. Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

3. Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.

4. Assist in teaching medical students and junior staff.

Administrative:

1. Maintain accurate and timely medical records.

2. Complete discharge summaries, reports, and other documentation.

3. Participate in audit and research projects.

4. Attend departmental meetings and conferences.

Education and Training:

1. Participate in regular educational sessions and workshops.

2. Present case presentations and journal clubs.

3. Contribute to the development of educational materials.

4. Pursue ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

Education:

- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) & DCH/DNB/MD

Experience:

- 1 years of pediatric experience, preferably in a registrar role.

- Experience in general pediatrics, subspecialty pediatrics, or neonatology.

Skills:

- Excellent clinical and communication skills.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Ability to work effectively in a team.

- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs).

Certifications:

- Registration with the relevant medical board.

- Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
