Job Opportunity: NOC Team LeaderThis role is responsible for leading a team of Network Operations Center (NOC) engineers. As the NOC Team Leader, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our network and services.Job DescriptionLead, mentor and support a team of NOC engineers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.Set priorities, distribute tasks and ensure proper workload balance within the team to maximize productivity and efficiency.Drive professional development through training, coaching and ongoing feedback to improve individual and team performance.Conduct periodic 1:1 meetings, performance evaluations and goal-setting to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.Recruit, onboard and integrate new NOC engineers into the team to maintain a high-performing and cohesive unit.ResponsibilitiesOwn day-to-day operations of the NOC function, ensuring seamless execution of tasks and processes.Ensure teams follow predefined procedures, escalation paths and runbooks to guarantee efficient incident management and resolution.Validate and improve health checks, monitoring dashboards and operational KPIs to optimize system performance and reliability.Oversee shift handovers, ensuring accuracy, clarity and continuity of operations to minimize disruptions.Incident ManagementServe as primary incident coordinator for major incidents (P1/P2), providing timely and effective leadership to resolve issues quickly.Ensure correct triage, prioritization and mitigation actions by the team to minimize impact on services and customers.Coordinate escalation to Tier 2/3, Infrastructure, Security and relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive issue resolution.Lead post-incident reviews, ensuring documentation, root cause analysis and follow-up action items are completed to prevent future occurrences.Service Quality & Continuous ImprovementMonitor team performance, SLAs and KPIs; ensure targets are met or exceeded to maintain high service quality standards.Identify recurring issues, monitoring gaps or operational inefficiencies and drive improvement initiatives to enhance overall system performance.Own and update NOC processes, SOPs, runbooks and documentation to reflect best practices and changing requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and monitoring coverage, ensuring seamless integration and communication.Proactively recommend improvements to monitoring, alerting, automation and NOC workflows to streamline processes and reduce complexity.Communication & ReportingProvide clear and consistent communication to management regarding incidents, trends, risks and operational status to ensure informed decision-making.Deliver daily/weekly operational reports, including incident summaries and team performance insights to facilitate data-driven decision-making.Represent the NOC function in internal meetings, service reviews and cross-team coordination sessions to promote collaboration and understanding.
