Software Engineering Position OverviewThis role involves working on the development and management of APIs. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating Enterprise AI API platforms.Design and Build APIs: Utilize IBM API Connect, DataPower gateways, or equivalent API management platforms to create scalable, secure, and robust APIs.Define API Governance Policies: Establish authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, API-key, JWT), rate limits, quotas, versioning, and lifecycle management strategies.Manage the API Gateway: Implement routing, transformation, orchestration, protocol mediation (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), and traffic control techniques.Develop a Developer Portal: Publish APIs, onboard internal/external consumers, document usage, and enable self-service subscription capabilities.Monitor API Performance: Analyze usage patterns, production issues, and error metrics to optimize performance.Ensure API Security and Resilience: Secure back-end integrations, validate payloads, mitigate threats, and maintain high availability.Stay Up-to-Date with Emerging Trends: Remain current with API management best practices, evolving protocols (GraphQL, WebSockets), and emerging technologies like AWS cloud services (API Gateway, S3, EKS).
