Machine Learning EngineerWe're seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team.The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing scalable machine learning systems, including model evaluation, A/B testing, continuous training, and monitoring in production.This role involves working closely with stakeholders from Product, Engineering, and Operations to ensure that goals are aligned and execution is coordinated and effective.The successful candidate will also be responsible for mentoring engineers within both ML and platform teams, fostering their professional development and contributing to the overall growth of Ocrolus' technical expertise.In addition, this person will play an active role in shaping Ocrolus-wide engineering standards, participate in design reviews (RFCs/ADRs), and promote adherence to best practices.Key Responsibilities:Design and Develop Machine Learning Systems: Create robust, scalable machine learning systems that are primed for seamless deployment into production.Mentor and Guide Engineers: Provide mentorship to engineers within both ML and platform teams, fostering their professional development and contributing to the overall growth of Ocrolus' technical expertise.Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with stakeholders from Product, Engineering, and Operations to ensure that goals are aligned and execution is coordinated and effective.Requirements:Senior Degree in Computer Science or Related Field: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.Deep Expertise in Python and Major ML Framework: Strong proficiency in building, training, and optimizing deep learning models using Python and major ML frameworks.Proven Experience in Applying ML Techniques: Proven experience in applying ML techniques to computer vision, OCR, or NLP problems, ideally at scale and in latency-sensitive environments.Preferred Attributes:Working Familiarity with Additional Programming Languages: Working familiarity with additional programming languages such as Go, Java, or Scala is a plus.Experience Operating Within Regulated Industries: Experience operating within regulated industries such as fintech or healthtech is a plus.This is a high-impact role that entails strategic responsibility in determining the company's Machine Learning infrastructure, system architecture, and deployment protocols.The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and team player who can influence architectural decisions and communicate complex technical ideas to diverse stakeholders.Additionally, this person will have a solid understanding of ML system design, including model evaluation, A/B testing, continuous training, and monitoring in production.This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge machine learning projects and contribute to the growth and advancement of Ocrolus' technical expertise.
