English Language Arts Instruction Specialist

Subject Matter Expert Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert with expertise in English Language Arts (ELA) instruction, particularly in grades 3-8 and High School English I content.This individual will collaborate closely with the Learning Design team to develop assessment items aligned to state standards and state assessment tests across multiple states. Their primary responsibilities will include reviewing AI-generated questions for accuracy, pedagogical relevance, and rigor, while ensuring alignment to standards and Unpacked Standards Measurable Objectives (USMOs).Main Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Learning Design team to generate and review multiple-choice and non-multiple-choice questions developed for each grade level and state.Evaluate questions for accuracy, clarity, and pedagogical relevance, identifying any errors, ambiguities, or language that is not grade-appropriate.Review each question for adherence to client writing guidelines and alignment to Common Core standards for ELA specific to the grade and USMOs.Author items as needed, including sources or creating passages, ensuring each item meets specified ELA standards, is original, and adheres to pedagogical best practices.Requirements:Proven expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in ELA instruction, specifically in grades 3-8 and HS English I content level.Demonstrated experience in authoring high-quality, rigorous assessment items for state or standardized testing.Strong understanding of Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels and experience authoring questions at DOK Level 2 and DOK Level 3.Familiarity with various question types, including multiple-choice, multiple-select, and short-answer.Full-time PositionThis is a full-time position with a competitive salary package.
