Key Responsibilities
Contract Management & Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including commercial & sales agreements, vendor and partnership contracts, and employment documents.
- Ensure contract terms are legally sound, aligned with internal policies, and commercially practical.
- Support cross-functional teams by integrating legal review into business timelines, ensuring efficient deal execution.
Corporate Advisory & Business Partnership
- Provide practical legal advice on matters involving commercial operations, regulatory requirements, and workforce management.
- Partner with HR on employment-related policies, workforce issues, and compliance across jurisdictions.
- Assist in M&A transactions and strategic partnerships, including due diligence, documentation preparation and post-merger integration support.
Compliance & Governance
- Monitor regulatory and legal developments affecting the business; ensure internal policies remain current.
- Support internal and external audits, including legal and compliance reviews.
- Maintain and enforce internal governance frameworks to uphold legal standards and ethical conduct.
Dispute Resolution
- Manage litigation, arbitration, and pre-litigation disputes in coordination with external counsel.
- Advise internal teams on dispute prevention and resolution strategies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate across departments and geographies to support business strategy and ensure legal alignment.
- Operate with diplomacy and responsiveness in a multicultural, multinational environment.
- Represent Legal in cross-functional settings with visibility to senior and executive decision-makers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law from a reputable institution (NLU or equivalent preferred). Bar Council membership is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the Telecom, IT, or ITES sectors.
- Experience working in international companies or law firms is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts.
- Working knowledge of employment law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness; must be a team player with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Proven ability to operate with judgment, integrity, and discretion in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with legal technology tools is a plus.
