Job Title: Backend Automation Engineer – SDETLocation: RemoteDivision: Sam’s Club (Walmart Merchandising) About the Role:We’re looking for a skilled SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to join our fast-growing merchandising team at Sam’s Club. As part of this team, you will be working on catalog and merchant tools, building automated solutions to ensure robust and scalable backend systems for our internal and customer-facing APIs. Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for RESTful APIs and backend services.Create, organize, and execute automated tests using Java, RestAssured, and TestNG.Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.Validate APIs against Swagger/OpenAPI specifications and schema files.Perform functional, regression, and integration testing, including third-party API validations.Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases.Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive quality ownership throughout the SDLC.Take complete ownership from writing test cases to production-level validations and releases. Tech Stack You’ll Work With:Languages: Java (Primary), PythonFrameworks: RestAssured, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, PyTestCloud Platforms: GCP, Azure, AWS (Preferred)Tools: Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, TestRail, Docker, Kubernetes (basic exposure)Others: Swagger, Postman, JSON, Schema Validators What We Expect:Strong knowledge of API automation using Java and industry-standard tools.Hands-on experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks.Solid understanding of CI/CD and test scheduling at scale.Exposure to cloud-native environments and microservices-based architecture.The ability to think end-to-end, take initiative, and independently own test delivery pipelines.
