Job OverviewThe automation test engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications. This individual is responsible for designing and executing manual test cases, automating test cases using Selenium (Java), maintaining automation suites using TestNG / JUnit, performing functional, regression, smoke testing, executing API testing using Rest Assured / Postman, logging and tracking defects using JIRA, performing database testing using SQL queries, participating in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities, maintaining code using GitHub and running builds via Jenkins, collaborating with developers for defect resolution.Key Responsibilities:Design and execute manual test cases to ensure the accuracy and completeness of software applications.Automate test cases using Selenium (Java) to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.Maintain automation suites using TestNG / JUnit to streamline the testing process.Perform functional, regression, smoke testing to identify and fix defects early on.Execute API testing using Rest Assured / Postman to validate the functionality of APIs.Log and track defects using JIRA to facilitate collaboration and issue resolution.Perform database testing using SQL queries to ensure data integrity and consistency.Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities to align with development teams.Maintain code using GitHub and run builds via Jenkins to ensure continuous integration and delivery.
