Physician Specialist Role OverviewThe specialist physician plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.Main ResponsibilitiesPatient Care: Conduct comprehensive assessments, gather medical histories, and formulate personalized treatment plans for complex conditions within the specialty.Treatment and Procedures: Prescribe and administer appropriate medication, therapy, or specialized medical care, performing necessary procedures/surgeries as required.Clinical Collaboration: Liaise and consult with other medical specialists, departments, and support services to ensure holistic patient care.Documentation: Accurately record all relevant clinical information in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities to enhance patient safety and care standards.Mentorship and Education: Provide guidance, supervision, and education to junior medical staff, residents, and students.Communication: Clearly communicate clinical information to patients and their families, obtaining informed consent for procedures as needed.Qualifications and RequirementsEducation: Hold an MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school.Post-Graduate Training: Complete a structured clinical residency or fellowship program in the relevant specialization.Experience: Possess a minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience post-specialization, adhering to DOH tier classification qualifications and hospital requirements.Licensing: Obtain a valid DOH license or eligibility letter to practice in Abu Dhabi, along with a current, valid license from the country of last or current practice.Good Standing: Maintain a Certificate of Good Standing from the relevant licensing authority.Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous medical education (CME/CPD).Language: Be fluent in English and Arabic, with competence in other languages being a distinct asset.
