About the Team/RoleWe are the Core Information Delivery team, providing core reporting frameworks for WEX's industry-leading fuel card platform. We are redefining monolithic reporting interfaces by modularization and microservices with APIs for both internal and external customers, and we're focused at modernization and cicd deployments.As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you will be designing, developing, testing and maintaining our core reporting stack deployed as a cloud-native solution. You'll work with a modern tech stack in containerization, Kafka event streams, ETL using Informatica cloud, and APIs written in python and also partake in full cycle migration efforts from perl to python. This is an opportunity for you to join a small, agile, and collaborative team that values ownership, high-quality results, and a fun working environment.How you'll make an impactDesign, develop, test and implement robust and scalable applications.Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.Experience you'll bringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.At least 3-5 years experience with software development experience using Agile practices and methodology.Experience developing and supporting cloud-based infrastructure as code.Experience with working on services in AWS cloud platform.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.PlusExperience with core Python using Object-oriented implementations and adhering to PEP-8 standards.Strong sql understanding and ability to follow pl/sql blocks and procedures in Oracle/Postgres.Experience in subscribing to Kafka streaming Pub/Sub.Hands-on in API implementations and microservice architecture, specifically using FastAPI and Pydantic. Testing automation using PyTest/Unittest modules.Ability to use AI-assisted conversion using notebook LLMs from legacy stacks to python.Experience with ETL pipelines and/or ETL tools like Informatica.Own complete development cycle including testing and release coordination.Experience with docker, kubernetes will be a plus.Passion for technology and a desire to learn and grow.If you are looking for a growing career – come be part of WEX today
