What You'll LeadThis is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role:Engineering & Technical LeadershipOwn the technical roadmap for Cync's AI Document Intelligence platformDrive execution across multiple engineering teams:→ LOS AI ingestion, Servicing workflow automation, Vision AI, Integrations, Cloud InfraArchitect modular, scalable pipelines for:Financial statements + tax returnsRent rolls + leasesAppraisals + construction docsBorrowing base collateral filesKYC/identity docs for depositsBuild guardrails to ensure accuracy, traceability, compliance + explainabilityPlatform & ProductizationConvert one-off extraction workflows into a configurable platform:Document Layout → Sub-section segmentationContextual parsing based on content typeAutomatic table + image → data conversionNatural language-based field extractionRetrieval pipelines powered by document metadata & embeddingsEnsure interoperability across Origination → Servicing → Core banking systemsExecution & ScaleEstablish high-velocity engineering processes and release disciplineScale engineering headcount 2–3+ hires/month while raising the barImplement modern observability, testing automation, and performance engineeringDrive cost-efficient cloud scaling and AI model operations (model versioning, evaluation)Cross-Functional LeadershipPartner with Product to turn customer workflows into intelligent automationCollaborate with Sales/Pre-Sales for enterprise deploymentsWork with Compliance/Risk to meet banking regulatory expectationsRepresent engineering in customer and executive steering sessions What You Bring10+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years leading teamsBuilt & scaled:→ AI/ML or data platforms→ Workflow automation or enterprise SaaS→ High-availability, secure production environmentsDeep familiarity with LLMs + Vision Models (OCR not enough)Strong architectural ability — event-driven, streaming, microservices, vector DBProven ability to turn messy, unstructured data into reliable structured outputsExperience integrating with financial systems: core, GL, banking APIsYou've lived through scale: dozens to hundreds of engineers, before that you have worked at a well-run, high-bar company where you learned what great engineering culture looks likeA true builder who enjoys hands-on contribution where needed Success in This Role Means:Cync delivers best-in-market accuracy on complex banking documentsAI extraction becomes fully integrated with LOS + Servicing workflowsPlatform supports all loan + deposit products in the bank lifecycleDeployment scalability: +100 banks with repeatable configurationEngineering culture: fast, accountable, transparent, innovativeA thriving organization that executes at speed — while staying resilient
