Job OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Testing Engineer to join our team in conducting mechanical tests, analyzing data, and preparing clear technical reports. This is a core technical, lab-focused role ideal for someone who enjoys being on the test floor, working with equipment, and diving into data to understand how and why materials/components behave the way they do.Main ResponsibilitiesPlan and conduct mechanical tests (e.g., tension, compression, bending, shear, hardness, impact, etc.) as per relevant standards and internal proceduresAssist in setting up test rigs, fixtures, sensors, and data acquisition systemsPrepare test specimens, ensure correct mounting/alignment, and run trials as requiredSupport development and refinement of test methods and fixturesRecord, validate, and analyze test data with high accuracyUse basic statistical tools and engineering calculations to interpret resultsPrepare clear, concise test reports with data, graphs, and technical conclusionsMaintain proper documentation and traceability for all tests performedOperate and perform basic troubleshooting on mechanical testing equipment (e.g., UTM, impact testers, hardness testers, etc.)Follow preventive maintenance and calibration schedules as guided by the supervisorAdhere to lab SOPs, work instructions, and quality system requirementsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaExecute tests in line with applicable Indian and global standards (as trained)Follow quality procedures for sample identification, data recording, and reportingEscalate any deviations, abnormalities, or equipment issues to the supervisorComply with all safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE
