Role Overview: Director of Product

The Director of Product will spearhead the vision, strategy, and execution for AppsForBharat's product portfolio. This role is crucial in crafting intuitive, meaningful, and scalable solutions that resonate with millions of users, while driving business outcomes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and delivery, balancing user-centric innovation with operational excellence.

  • Key Responsibilities1. Product Strategy & RoadmapDefine the short-term and long-term product vision and strategy, aligning it with business objectives and user needs.
  • Develop and own the product roadmap, ensuring prioritization of impactful features and projects.
  • Innovate in features and services catering to the diverse spiritual needs of users, including content, commerce, rituals, and pilgrimages.
  • 2. User Experience & ResearchDeeply understand user personas and pain points through qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Design features that enhance user engagement, retention, and satisfaction across devotional, spiritual, and community-driven offerings.
  • 3. Data-Driven Decision MakingLeverage analytics, user feedback, and market insights to continuously optimize product performance.
  • Define success metrics (KPIs) and measure the impact of new features and updates.
  • 4. Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and operations teams to drive seamless product execution.
  • Act as the product evangelist within the organization, aligning stakeholders on product goals and strategies.
  • 5. Scaling Products & SystemsBuild scalable platforms for content discovery, monetization (e.g., chadhava, premium features), and user journeys.
  • Introduce systems to streamline operational efficiency, including product experimentation and rollout processes.
  • 6. Team Building & LeadershipBuild, mentor, and inspire a high-performing product team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • RequirementsExperience & Skills7+ years of product management experience, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role at a consumer-tech or B2C startup.
  • Proven track record of scaling digital products with a large user base.
  • Experience in content-driven platforms, community-building apps, or e-commerce/monetization-focused ecosystems.
  • Exceptional ability to combine user empathy with analytical decision-making.
  • Strong expertise in defining and tracking product success metrics (NPS, retention, engagement).
  • Leadership & CollaborationDemonstrated ability to manage and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, aligning diverse teams on shared goals.
