Role Summary:
The “Manager - Tender Management” will lead and coordinate the end-to-end tendering process for the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills to deliver competitive and compliant proposals for domestic and international logistics and freight forwarding opportunities.
Key Responsibilities: Tender Management:
Tender Evaluation:
Analyze and evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to understand customer requirements.
Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with tenders.
Proposal Development:
Develop comprehensive tender documents, including technical and commercial proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with customer requirements.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, legal, and compliance teams, to gather necessary inputs.
Ensure all tender submissions are accurate, well-documented, and submitted within deadlines.
Pricing Strategy:
Develop competitive pricing models based on market intelligence, client requirements, and operational feasibility.
Optimize pricing structures to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all tenders adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards.
Maintain an organized database of tender documents, submissions, and records.
Stakeholder Engagement
Customer Interaction:
Act as the primary point of contact for tender-related queries from clients and stakeholders.
Conduct post-tender reviews and negotiations as necessary.
Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, operations, legal, pricing and finance teams to ensure tenders are aligned with company capabilities and client expectations.
Facilitate communication across departments to streamline the tender process.
Market and Industry Analysis:
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for improvement in the tender process.
Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the company’s value proposition in tenders.
Keep an eye for online tenders issued and also in news paper on daily bases and participate in the tender in consultation with Director Sales
Qualifications and Skills:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience Required : Minimum 8-10 years of experience in tender management within the logistics and freight forwarding industry.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of logistics services, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and distribution.
Proficiency in tendering software and tools, as well as advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Team-oriented with leadership capabilities to manage cross-functional teams.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Number of tenders submitted within deadlines.
Win rate of submitted tenders.
Accuracy and compliance of tender documents.
Contribution to revenue growth through successful bids.
Feedback from clients and internal stakeholders.
Reporting: Director Sales
