Location:
Bagalur, Tamil Nadu. Bagalur is a small town about 12 kms from Hosur in TN, 15 Kms from Sarjapura and 45 Kms from Bangalore in Karnataka. You will need to have your own transport to reach the work site.
Role Description
- As a custodian of quality, the position will be responsible to ensure that any seed that is being sold meets strict and high quality standards set by the company. The candidate will also be responsible to provide QA clearence within a stipulated time to facilitate timely payment to seed producers.
- This position will be responsible for controlling processes, maintaining records and preparing for internal audits.
- The role involves overseeing day-to-day activities related to seed quality and genetic quality. The role monitors and ensures compliance with ISTA standards.
- The role will involve working closely with the seed processing plant, packing and commercial operations to analyse, identify and rectify areas that have an impact on seed quality at customer end on a regular basis. The Asst Manager will also work closely with the research team to understand parent lines and hybrids, which is required to evaluate genetic quality of commercial seed lots.
- The role involves organising the lab and fields to provide quality results in line with business / sales plans, develop and manage capacities in line with growth, developing annual plans and resource management.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Agriculture / Horticulture with specialisation in Seed technology. Certifications in Seed Technology or Quality Assurance are a plus
- Knowledge of best practices in Seed Quality Assurance and Testing with experience in Quality Control and Compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Collaborative nature with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Customer focused, innovative and experimentative, ability to work effectively in a team environment and labour management skills
