Technical Design ExpertThis is a challenging role for an experienced technical design professional to raise the team's technical competence by fostering continuous learning and keeping skills aligned with the latest industry practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing robust delivery and quality measurement processes to ensure consistency and high standards in all projects.Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contribute to the designProvide continuous feedback to the Associate/ Principal Engineer on the effectiveness of the protocols and processes in place with a view to continuous improvementDevelop positive professional relationships with the team, communicating openly about project progressParticipate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teamsIdentify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow company commercial and contracting processesManage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leaderIdentify and flag additional fees to the Associate/ Principal Engineer.Key Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related fieldMinimum 5 years experience in plumbing & fire protection design for commercial and residential buildings at concept, schematic and detailed design stagesFixture load calculations, pipe pressure drop CalculationsPipe sizing for hot & cold water and fire protectionPreparation of Plumbing and Fire equipmentSchedules for Pumps, pipes, valves, etc., and BOQsPreparation of layouts, schematics, sections, plant rooms hand mark upsFamiliarity with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, ASPE, IPC, NFPA Fire codes and standards
