Job Title: Data Tester

Location: Bangalore BCIT

Job Description


Overview:

We are seeking a skilled ETL Automation Tester with a minimum of 5 years of experience in data testing, particularly in ETL processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL skills, experience with Big Data technologies, and a good understanding of cloud environments (preferably AWS). If you have a passion for data quality and automation testing, we encourage you to apply

Responsibilities:

Data Testing:

  • Perform data testing, particularly focusing on ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Write complex SQL queries to validate and verify data transformations and loading processes.

Big Data Experience: Utilize Big Data technologies to test data pipelines and workflows, ensuring scalability and performance.

Cloud Knowledge: Apply a good understanding of cloud concepts, specifically AWS, to enhance testing strategies and methodologies (experience is preferred).

UNIX and HDFS: Write and execute UNIX and HDFS commands for data validation and manipulation as part of the ETL testing process.

Testing Concepts:

  • Develop and document testing concepts including test cases, test scenarios, test strategy, test plans, and test results documentation.
  • Ensure thorough coverage of all testing requirements and methodologies.

Test Management: Utilize Jira as a Test Management (with Zephyr) and Defect Management tool to track testing progress and report defects.

Type of Testing: Conduct various types of testing, including system testing, system integration testing, regression testing, and end-to-end testing.

Automation Testing: Demonstrate experience in automation testing by adding new test cases to the existing framework and executing them for validation.

Experience and Qualifications:

Someone who have at least 4 to 5 yrs relevant experience into ETL testing and understands end to end ETL process

Strong in writing SQL (Complex Queries)

Working experience on Big Data stack like HDFS, basic in Spark

Should be able to write HDFS and Unix commands for validations

Strong in testing concept, have good experience using Jira for test management and defect management

Basic experience on AWS and understands well

Should be able to add test cases in the existing automation framework, should have experience on same
