Lead Data Security Engineer at Groww will be responsible for developing and executing robust security strategies to safeguard sensitive data across our systems. This individual will play a key role in designing and implementing protective measures, monitoring security events, and conducting rigorous testing to identify and address vulnerabilities. With expertise in data encryption, hashing, tokenization, DLP, and data classification, the ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity and security of Groww's data assets.
What you’ll do:
- Develop comprehensive security plans and strategies to enhance the protection of Groww's systems and sensitive data. This includes designing proactive measures to protect data at rest, in transit, and across various systems.
- Implement advanced data protection mechanisms such as encryption, hashing, tokenization, and data classification to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of sensitive information.
- Conduct continuous testing and retesting of systems to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Work closely with other teams to remediate security gaps and improve overall system security.
- Work with Cyber Defence teams to monitor systems for security breaches and unusual activity using data security and monitoring tools. Provide real-time monitoring to identify and mitigate threats proactively.
- Investigate security breaches, analyze anomalies, and lead the effort to respond to security incidents. Work with cross-functional teams to mitigate impact and improve security measures.
- Develop and enforce DLP policies to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or leakage of sensitive data. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and data protection laws.
- Manage database integrity and security tools to ensure the protection of sensitive data in databases. Implement database access controls to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the data.
- Lead a team of data security engineers, providing mentorship and guidance in applying best practices for data protection. Collaborate with IT, product, and other security teams to ensure holistic security solutions.
- Design, implement, and enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies that are in line with Groww’s security objectives. Ensure DLP solutions are effectively integrated into existing systems and platforms.
- Ensure all data security measures and practices comply with applicable regulations (eg:PCI-DSS etc) and internal policies. Prepare and present security reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- 6+ years of experience in data security or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with data protection techniques, including encryption, hashing, tokenization, and data classification.
- Expertise with DSPM, DLP, CASB, SASE and other security platforms to monitor and protect data and systems.
- Strong understanding and experience in implementing DLP policies, tools, and best practices to prevent data breaches and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Proficiency in managing database integrity and security tools to ensure that sensitive data is securely stored and protected.
- Ability to investigate security breaches and anomalies, determine root causes, and lead efforts to remediate vulnerabilities and improve overall system security.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of security professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey security findings, incident reports, and security recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify security risks, vulnerabilities, and breaches, while applying logical solutions to mitigate them.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or any Data Protection certifications are highly preferred.
