Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience working as an agronomist, with substantial field experience in Punjab.

Role Overview:

The Agronomist will play a critical role in ensuring our AI-based crop monitoring solutions align with the real-world needs of farmers in Punjab. You will provide expert advice on crop management, pest control, soil health, and sustainable farming practices, translating technical insights from our platform into practical recommendations for end-users. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of Punjab’s agricultural landscape, including key crops, soil conditions, and local challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert agronomic support for our AI-based crop monitoring solution, with a focus on regional crops (e.g., wheat, rice, maize, sugarcane, and horticulture crops).
• Analyze crop health data, soil reports, and satellite imagery to offer actionable recommendations for farmers.
• Work closely with data scientists and GIS experts to ensure our models reflect the on-ground realities and address region-specific issues like water management, pest outbreaks, and soil degradation.
• Engage with farmers, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), and agricultural stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored advice on crop management.
• Conduct on-field demonstrations and trials to validate the effectiveness of our solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging agricultural trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainable farming.
• Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to create farmer-friendly content and educational material.
• Support business development efforts by attending local agricultural events and establishing connections with key stakeholders in Punjab’s agricultural ecosystem.

Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of Punjab’s agricultural practices, including soil types, irrigation methods, pest and disease management, and crop rotation systems.
• Familiarity with AI, GIS, and remote sensing technologies in agriculture is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills, both in English and Punjabi, with the ability to engage and advise farmers and agricultural professionals effectively.
