What is the FTT IEO End User Core Services – Back Office Engineering team responsible for?

The End User Core Services Back Office Engineering team provides client and server technology engineering for various End User devices, Office 365 services, Microsoft Entra & Active Directory Domain Services and Hybrid Management tools for Unified Workspaces platforms. These systems provide our external customers and internal employees with the digital experience to collaborate, communicate and compute securely and in real time. The engineering teams’ goal is to provide a scalable and flexible platform that can grow and evolve with a business's needs.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Engineer?  

Reporting to the IT Manager of FTT IEO End User Core Services – Back Office Engineering team, the Senior Engineer is part of a global team composed of architects, engineers, and operational support staff responsible for developing solutions and providing service delivery for Franklin Templeton Investments (FTI) end-user computing services. Key responsibilities include, and are not limited to, engineering support and delivery of end user devices (mobile, virtual & physical), Office 365 services, Microsoft Entra & Active Directory Domain Services and Hybrid Management tools for Unified Workspaces platforms, security, and vulnerability management in support of Franklin’s business units and workforce worldwide.

The Engineer is generally responsible for critical work and/or complex projects performed within a broader technical and business context. This role works on medium to high complexity problems and projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

Experience - 8+ years of engineering experience infrastructure associated with: 

Working experience using MS Intune/MECM aka Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager for managing the following operating systems: Windows, Mac, iOS/iPadOS, Android, Linux, & Chromebook

Working experience Azure Virtual Desktops, Citrix Virtual Desktops and Amazon Workspaces

Working Experience managing and configuring with cloud services on AWS, Azure (cloud), Google and VMWare ESXi (on-prem) solutions in a global enterprise multi-site, multi-domain environment.

Security and vulnerability management 

License and subscription management 

8+ years of experience in mid to large, global enterprise environments, with geographically dispersed, culturally diverse populations 

8+ years of experience with processes and procedures for production environment supporting 7x24 operations, including change control processes for modification and upgrade of production hardware and software and audit requirements 

Experience (Tier 2/3) supporting desktop and mobile devices, operating systems, and applications

Experience (Tier 2) supporting platforms running Windows Server

Experience using ServiceNow for Change Management and Help desk/trouble ticketing software to track work performed and maintain service level agreements.

Strong sense of ownership wanting to understand how things work and resolve root causes 

Collaborate and communicate effectively with local and remote individuals or teams (via e-mail, instant messaging, voice and/or video) across multiple time zones and can work independently and within teams 

Ability to encourage and foster a culture of visibility and transparency across teams 

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with customers to set and manage expectations. 

Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis and permanent problem resolution skills 

Strong process documentation skills 

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 

Good verbal and written skills to follow established processes and procedures to complete assigned tasks 

Deployment of updates, upgrades, patches, and related software 

Provide systems metrics, root cause analysis and proactive monitoring and communicate any performance degradation to management 

Create, test and update disaster recovery plans 

Manage problem resolution to a satisfactory completion by keeping abreast of assigned tickets and following the proper escalation processes 

Perform system monitoring functions. Run reports as needed. Respond to and escalate alerts as needed. 

Strong Data and Informational analytics skills 

Provide other technical services as necessary for the successful completion of projects. 

May be required to work outside of normal business hours and/or extended hours as necessary 

Provide 24/7/365 primary and secondary on-call support in a rotation 

Azure, AWS, certifications are strongly preferred, demonstrating an understanding of core concepts. 

PowerShell scripting, Conditional Access experience a plus 

Work Shift Timings - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
