Overview: The Senior Specialist - Software Engineering plays a crucial role in our organization by leading the development and implementation of Java-based POS systems using microservices architecture. This position requires deep expertise in software engineering, particularly in Java, POS systems, and microservices, to drive innovation and ensure high-quality deliverables.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design, development, and implementation of Java-based POS systems using microservices architecture.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical solutions for complex business requirements.Conduct code reviews, ensure code quality, and provide technical guidance to team members.Develop and maintain scalable and high-performing microservices using Java technologies.Participate in architectural and design discussions to contribute to the development of robust and efficient software solutions.Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Debug and troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolution to ensure smooth system operation.Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve software development processes.Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Ensure adherence to software development best practices and standards, including coding, testing, and documentation.Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies.Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free software products.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and sprint reviews, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in software engineering with a focus on Java-based development.Proven expertise in developing POS systems and applications.Extensive experience in designing and implementing microservices using industry-standard frameworks and tools.Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies for building scalable microservices.Demonstrated experience in performance optimization and debugging of Java-based applications.Strong understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and DevOps principles.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.Experience in leading and mentoring software development teams.Good understanding of cloud platforms and services for deploying microservices.Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, messaging queues, and database systems.Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Experience with version control systems and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions.Relevant certifications in Java, microservices, or related areas would be a plus.
