Job Description:

Functional Safety Engineer (FUSA Engineer) specializing in safety, regulatory and compliance in automotive electronics. The role involves ensuring compliance with functional safety standards throughout the development lifecycle of automotive electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in functional safety concepts and methodologies, particularly ISO 26262, FUSA, SOTIF and ASPICE experience in designing safety-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement functional safety concepts (FSC) and strategy for automotive electronic systems
Define safety goals, safety mechanisms, and safety architectures for electronic systems based on ISO 26262 and other relevant standards.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software engineers, and system architects to ensure functional safety requirements are integrated into the design and development process.
Guide and support the development teams in implementing safety measures and verifying compliance with safety standards throughout the product lifecycle.
Conduct reviews and facilitate audits of safety-related documentation, including safety plans, safety cases, and safety analyses reports.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on functional safety topics to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes related to automotive functional safety.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
10-15 years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably within the automotive industry.
In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards and methodologies, particularly ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
Experience in conducting safety analyses such as HARA, FTA, and FMEA for automotive electronic systems.
Familiarity with safety mechanisms and architectures for automotive ECUs, sensors, and communication protocols.
Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and network management.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
Certification in functional safety (e.g., Certified Functional Safety Expert, CFSE).
