Horse Groomer Job OverviewAs a Horse Groomer, you will be responsible for performing daily tasks to ensure the health and cleanliness of horses in our facility. The ideal candidate will have strong horse handling abilities and be able to work confidently with different types of horses.Job Responsibilities:Perform stable cleaning, feeding, watering, and general barn maintenance.Groom, bathe, saddle, and unsaddle horses as needed.Prepare horses for riding lessons, events, shows, and competitions by providing thorough grooming and equipment preparation.Assist veterinarians, farriers, and trainers by safely handling horses and assisting with procedures.Administer routine medications and provide basic first aid to horses when necessary.Clean and maintain equipment, buckets, grooming tools, and barn areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment for both humans and animals.Load and unload horses and travel for events as required.Perform full-body clipping and seasonal grooming tasks to maintain the appearance and overall health of the horses.Requirements and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you must possess:Strong Equine Care Knowledge: A good understanding of equine behavior, nutrition, and health is essential.Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with trainers, veterinarians, and other staff members.Physical Ability: Must be physically fit and able to perform strenuous tasks throughout the day.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of the horses.
