Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Kernel Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge networking solutions. As a Linux Kernel Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing kernel components for high-performance networking devices.
Responsibilities:
- Kernel Development: Develop, maintain, and optimize Linux kernel components, including device drivers, network protocols, and core kernel subsystems.
- Analyze and resolve complex kernel-related issues, such as performance bottlenecks, stability problems, and security vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of new hardware components into the Linux kernel.
- Networking Product Development: Design and implement kernel-based features for networking products, such as switches and routers.
- Optimize kernel performance for high-speed packet processing and low latency.
- Develop custom kernel modules for specific networking requirements, including device drivers, network protocols, and security features.
- Kernel Debugging and Troubleshooting: Utilize advanced debugging techniques to identify and fix kernel-related issues.
- Analyze kernel logs and core dumps to diagnose system failures.
- Work closely with system administrators to resolve kernel-related problems in production environments.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and optimize kernel performance bottlenecks.
- Implement performance-enhancing techniques, such as kernel parameter tuning and kernel module optimization.
- Measure and analyze kernel performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Deep understanding of Linux kernel internals, including memory management, process scheduling, and I/O subsystems.
- Strong proficiency in C programming language and kernel development techniques.
- Experience with kernel debugging tools, such as printk, gdb, and perf.
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLAN, etc.) and network device drivers.
- Experience with high-speed networking hardware, such as network interface cards, switches, and routers.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with kernel configuration and build systems.
- Knowledge of real-time Linux and its application in networking devices.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, such as KVM and containers.
- Experience with kernel security hardening techniques.
