Job Requisition ID #25WD88336Autodesk is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Architect- Cloud Platform to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) Platform team. The Autodesk IAM Platform is a foundational service that provides secure, seamless, and scalable access across 150+ Autodesk desktop, web, mobile applications, and connected devices. It powers core capabilities such as authentication and authorization, serving millions of users worldwide and enabling a growing ecosystem of third-party developers and integrations.In this role, you will lead the architecture and evolution of the Authentication capability, a critical component of Autodesk’s IAM platform. You’ll be responsible for designing and guiding the development of secure, resilient, and customer-centric authentication cloud service that integrate deeply with Autodesk’s product landscape.As a technical leader for the IAM team in India, you will provide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams. You’ll collaborate closely with global architects and stakeholders across the broader IAM organization to shape and drive platform strategy and execution. This position reports to the Senior Director of the IAM Platform and is based in India.The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the architecture and design of modern Identity platforms, with a proven track record of delivering at scale in cloud-native environments.ResponsibilitiesDefine and lead the cloud architecture and technical vision for scalable, distributed, data-intensive microservices.Own the end-to-end architecture and hands-on engineering of secure, cloud-native IAM (AuthN/AuthZ) systems across Autodesk products and platforms, spanning design, implementation, and production operations.Align cloud and platform strategies with business priorities, balancing near-term opportunities with long-term technical vision.Champion cloud best practices in resiliency, scalability, observability, and cost optimization; drive engineering excellence through design/code reviews and clean, maintainable code.Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into cloud-ready, well-architected services.Mentor and grow engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation and technical leadership in cloud-native development.Lead the resolution of complex, cross-functional technical challenges with significant business impact.Anticipate emerging business and technology challenges in the cloud ecosystem, proactively shaping solutions.Minimum QualificationsBS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experienceStrong Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and data management. Conversant in multiple programming languagesThorough knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing conceptsExceptional proficiency in Java or Golang or similar programming language12+ years of experience in building and running large scale systems professionally and can point to things worked on3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or architect role, leading design of complex systemsDeep understanding of database systems (e.g. MySQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra) including scalability, performance, and consistency characteristicsExpertise in Cloud Infrastructure platforms such as AWS, GCP, or AzureExpertise with modern technology stacks, API design, microservices, stream processing and designing for resilience and operational excellenceStrong communicator.
