Expert System EngineerWe are seeking an expert system engineer to join our high-growth company. This is a senior-level position responsible for designing, building, and scaling real-time systems for global marketplaces.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and distributed systems. They should also have experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and low-latency API design.This role requires a team player who is comfortable working in a remote-first environment. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, document their work, and collaborate with product/architect teams.The responsibilities of this role include:Designing and implementing scalable, real-time systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.Building and deploying microservices using AWS ECS, Redis, ScyllaDB, MongoDB, and GraphQL.Developing custom algorithms and data models to support pricing, availability, and inventory workflows.Using AI developer tools such as Claude, Cursor, and LLMs via prompts, RAG, and agents to accelerate development.Participating in rigorous code reviews and contributing to CI/CD pipeline that supports frequent, reliable, and automated deployments.The requirements for this role are:10+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.Strong experience with MySQL, MongoDB, or ScyllaDB.Built distributed, event-driven systems using SQS, Kinesis; solid understanding of fault tolerance, backpressure, and scalability.Familiarity with data consistency models, circuit breakers, internal DSLs, and low-latency API design.Proficient with Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch; have tuned systems for high throughput and sub-50ms latencies.Comfortable working in a remote-first team with culture of ownership, documentation, and async communication.Pasion for clean code, testability, and driving engineering excellence via automation and tooling.
