Role Description


We’re seeking a Narrative/Social Media Coordinator to bring compelling stories to life while managing and growing our social media presence. This volunteer position offers an exciting opportunity to shape narratives and create an impact in a remote, collaborative setting.


Key Responsibilities:

Narrative Development & Storytelling

  • Conceptualize and craft engaging stories in a comic book-style format, starting from L0 (initial sketches and concepts) and evolving to polished, engaging narratives.
  • Develop character arcs, plotlines, and immersive worlds that captivate diverse audiences.
  • Use tools like Adobe Illustrator (or similar software) to create visual prototypes and illustrate story ideas.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to refine narratives and ensure a cohesive visual and textual direction.
  • Provide creative direction to align narrative tone, pacing, and style with overall project goals.

Social Media Coordination

  • Design and execute a social media strategy that aligns with storytelling objectives and resonates with our target audience.
  • Create and schedule engaging posts, stories, and visual content across various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook).
  • Use storytelling techniques to build a narrative-driven social media presence, weaving tales into campaigns and posts.
  • Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments, fostering a community around the brand’s stories.
  • Analyze metrics to measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.

General Contributions

  • Stay updated on industry trends in both storytelling and social media.
  • Suggest innovative ways to prototype and share narratives across new platforms and mediums.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, writers, and marketers, to align storytelling efforts with broader organizational goals.


Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong storytelling skills with experience in creating narrative prototypes and illustrations (comic book or similar).
  • Proficiency in tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent design software.
  • Ability to think creatively and translate ideas into visual formats and social media-friendly content.
  • Experience directing projects or teams to achieve creative goals.
  • Familiarity with managing and growing social media platforms, including content planning and audience engagement.
  • Passion for visual narratives and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
