Location: Bagalur, Tamil Nadu. Bagalur is a small town about 12 kms from Hosur in TN, 15 Kms from Sarjapura and 45 Kms from Bangalore in Karnataka. You will need to have your own transport to reach the work site.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for Asst Breeder / Breeder at Tropica Seeds Pvt. Ltd in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. This position will be responsible for hot pepper and sweet pepper breeding programs and is expected to independently manage and develop new pepper germ plasm, develop new hybrid varieties as per gap analysis and market opportunities, conducting field trials, analyze data, and collaborate with sales and Product Development, Parent seed and Production departments, other breeders and scientists to deliver high-performing seed solutions to farmers.

Qualifications
Minimum 3 to 5 years of breeding expereince in hot and sweet peppers
Knowledge of plant breeding techniques and molecular tools, especially in developing male sterile lines
Ability to conduct field trials and analyze data, asssit sales / Product development teams to position products
Collaborative skills to work with pathology department and other breeders and scientists
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, good interpersonal and strong communication skills
Ability to build and lead a team of techniciens, manage labour and other resources
Understanding of farmer challenges in growing peppers, future challanges driven by climate change and understanding of global agricultural markets and trends
Master's or Phd degree in Horticulture or Agriculture with specialisation in Genetics and Plant Breeding
