Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to join our team in developing and deploying large language models (LLMs) and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) systems for transforming patient care with artificial intelligence.Lead the Development of LLM- and RAG-based Systems: End-to-end development of LLM- and RAG-based systems to ingest NHS data sources, generate accurate responses, and power both chatbot and voice agent interactions.Craft and Optimize Prompts: Design voice-agent dialogue flows to maximise response relevance, reduce latency and ensure clinical safety across text and voice channels.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with frontend and backend teams to integrate AI and voice agent components into our microservices architecture.Performance Monitoring and Optimisation: Instrument AI and voice-agent pipelines, analyze logs and user feedback, troubleshoot edge cases, and implement continuous-learning improvements.Staying Abreast of Advancements: Stay informed about the latest advances in LLMs, RAG, conversational AI frameworks, and NHS-specific compliance to inform our technical roadmap.Testing and Validation: Define and execute rigorous test plans in collaboration with QA to validate model accuracy, voice-agent performance and compliance with healthcare standards.Required Skills and QualificationsStrong experience in AI/ML engineering, including LLMs and RAG systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript. Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
