Job OverviewWe are seeking a Mechanical Testing Engineer to join our team. This is a core technical role ideal for someone who enjoys being on the test floor, working with equipment, and diving into data to understand how and why materials/components behave the way they do.This position involves planning and conducting mechanical tests, analyzing data, and preparing clear technical reports under the guidance of the lab head/technical lead. Key responsibilities include:Conducting mechanical tests (e.g. tension, compression, bending, shear, hardness, impact, etc.) as per relevant standards and internal proceduresAssisting in setting up test rigs, fixtures, sensors, and data acquisition systemsPreparing test specimens, ensuring correct mounting/alignment, and running trials as requiredSupporting development and refinement of test methods and fixturesRecording, validating, and analyzing test data with high accuracyUsing basic statistical tools and engineering calculations to interpret resultsPreparing clear, concise test reports with data, graphs, and technical conclusionsMaintaining proper documentation and traceability for all tests performedOperating and performing basic troubleshooting on mechanical testing equipment (e.g. UTM, impact testers, hardness testers, etc.)Following preventive maintenance and calibration schedules as guided by the lab head/QA teamAdhering to lab SOPs, work instructions, and quality system requirementsMaintaining a clean, safe, and organized work areaExecuting tests in line with applicable Indian and global standards (as trained)Following quality procedures for sample identification, data recording, and reportingEscalating any deviations, abnormalities, or equipment issues to the supervisorComplying with all safety guidelines and using appropriate PPE
