Lead Data Scientist

Perfios is a leading B2B SaaS TechFin company empowering 1,000+ financial institutions across 18+ countries with AI-driven financial insights and decision-making. We process over 8 billion data points annually and are now expanding our innovation footprint through advanced AI/ML and data science applications in credit, fraud, and decision intelligence. We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Scientist with a strong background in model fine-tuning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLM), and Supervised Learning Models (SLM). In this leadership role, you will spearhead data science initiatives, mentor junior team members, and ensure that our machine learning models deliver optimal performance and innovative solutions that enhance our products and services. Key Responsibilities: ● Lead the development and implementation of Generative AI models to create cutting-edge data-driven applications. ● Take charge of strategies involving Large Language Models (LLMs) for diverse natural language processing tasks like text generation, summarization, and sentiment analysis. ● Design, implement, and optimize Supervised Learning Models (SLMs), placing a strong emphasis on fine-tuning to enhance model performance. This includes hyperparameter optimization, architecture adjustments, and task-specific refinements. ● Conduct in-depth experiments and research to advance model refinement and efficacy, documenting insights and best practices to share with the team. ● Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. ● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business goals, translating requirements into actionable technical solutions. ● Employ techniques such as transfer learning and data augmentation to improve model performance through focused fine-tuning methodologies. ● Stay updated on industry trends, advanced AI techniques, and best practices in fine-tuning to ensure our approaches remain cutting-edge. Qualifications: ● Master's or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. ● A minimum of 5 years of experience in data science or machine learning roles, with significant exposure to leadership responsibilities and model fine-tuning. ● Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Generative AI techniques and frameworks. ● Proficiency in large-scale applications of Large Language Models, with a focus on fine-tuning for specific NLP tasks. ● Strong expertise in Supervised Learning Models, including regression, classification, and time-series analysis. ● Proven experience in model fine-tuning, including hyperparameter tuning, custom loss functions, and performance metrics evaluation. ● Mastery of programming languages such as Python or R, along with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras. ● Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis using SQL, as well as proficiency in data visualization tools. ● Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive projects from conception to implementation in a team setting. Preferred Skills: ● Experience deploying machine learning models in production environments with a particular focus on ongoing fine-tuning. ● A strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their machine learning services, particularly in the context of fine-tuning models in the cloud. ● Outstanding communication skills to convey complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
