Calix provides the cloud, software platforms, systems and services required for communications service providers to simplify their businesses, excite their subscribers and grow their value.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development: Build and maintain robust backend services and microservices using Java, Rust, and Python, optimised for performance, scalability, and reliability.Event-Driven Architecture: Develop and manage high-throughput data pipelines and pub-sub workflows using Kafka at scale.Cloud Integration: Architect and deploy cloud-native solutions (preferably on GCP), ensuring seamless integration with partner systems and internal platforms.Data Engineering: Design systems to ingest, process, and analyse data from millions of IoT/WiFi devices, transforming it into actionable insights for customer support teams.Technical Leadership: Lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices across the SDLC including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, QA, and support teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Customer-Facing Engineering: Investigate and resolve complex field issues, collaborating with technical support and operations teamsQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. 6 –10 years of hands-on experience in backend software development.Proven expertise in Java and Kafka in production environments.Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containerisation (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).Experience working in Telecom domain on EMS/NMS systems is mandatory. Solid grasp of both relational and NoSQL databases.Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.Location:India – (Flexible hybrid work model - work from Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter)
