Job Details:As a Security Vulnerability Remediation Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities in applications. Your strong understanding of application security principles and vulnerability types will enable you to effectively evaluate findings from scanning tools and differentiate between true positives and false positives.Review and validate scan results from Burp Suite, ZAP, Mend, Snyk, JFrog XRay, Wiz, and Qualys to prioritize medium vulnerabilities.Document justification for false positives and submit exception requests via approved workflows, including GitHub Exception Templates and email notifications to the relevant teams.Key Responsibilities:Vulnerability TriageValidate severity and exploitability of identified vulnerabilities.Confirm whether findings are true positives or false positives.False Positive HandlingDocument justification for false positives.Submit exception requests via approved workflows.Remediation CoordinationCreate project tickets in the correct team backlog for confirmed vulnerabilities.Include vulnerability alert details, scanning source reference, and recommended remediation steps.Reporting & GovernanceMaintain accurate records of evaluation decisions and false positive justifications.Provide regular updates on task reduction progress.Strong understanding of application security principles and vulnerability types.Experience developing web applications, preferably in a PHP / MySQL environment.Hands-on experience with DAST, SAST, SCA, CSPM, and infrastructure scanning tools.Familiarity with project management software and collaboration platforms for issue tracking and exception handling.Ability to analyze scan results and differentiate between true positives and false positives.
